Okay I did it. No I haven’t knitted the shawl to the left. What I did do was to order the pattern and yarn for the “Adamas Shawl” from knitpicks. I know I probably shouldn’t have will all that’s going on right now, but daggumit I just couldn’t wait any longer!
I am going to be knitting this atleast in part as my KTC Rebal Reading knitting project. I say in part because I won’t be able to complete the reading or the project by the end of this month. But it is so perfect for the book I am reading, “Changewinds” by Jack L. Chalker, that I am atleast using it as an excuse to go ahead and order the pattern and yarn. I am using Knitpicks “shaddow” yarn in the colorway “Grape Jelly”. Here’s the link to the pattern and yarn http://www.knitpicks.com/Projects/Projects_Display_Yarn.aspx?itemid=50422220&yarnid=5420127
The car is having massive and major problems. The radiator seems to be okay as far as we can tell, but the engine leaks the water out. We are hoping it isn’t a cracked block. Atleast it doesn’t seem to be that because we can take the car locally without a bunch of trouble. The earliest the tax refund should be in this coming wednesday (God please let it be in then!) so it’s atleast then before we can do much. If it’s just a blown head gaskette then we are likely to get the car fixed. If it does turn out as a worse case (cracked block) then we’ll get a newer used car that won’t require so much work.
Now this brings up a possible difficulty, atleast for me personally. If we end up having to purchase another car, there will most likely be no new computer for me, no new digital camera, no new printer/copier/scanner combo. Everyone please pray that it is only a blown head gaskette and that it’s not a cracked block.
So you see, with the news about the car and the likelyhood of my not getting to get the new computer, I had to treat myself to the pattern and yarn for the shawl now. I had to give myself something to look forword to.
My KTC partner that I send to, well I am fortunate enough that I can pull some yarn from my stash and if I must, (and only if I must because of finances) I can send a gently used book from my bookshelf, and the few nick nacks I recently purchased for her. My Knitting Sisters Swap partner I can make something for, and/or send the few items that I have been gathering in my swap presents drawer. (Yes I realy do have a dresser drawer that I put little items in that I get threwout the year for various swaps that I am in.)
I currantly have about half a ball of yarn left on my mom’s cruise shawl. No I am no where done, it’s just that that’s all the yarn I have currently left unknitted. I will either have to wait until tax refund comes in (see above about car), or possibly even wait until after the first of next month to get any more. Ugh.
My KTC reading selection for next month is in at the store where I had it specially ordered. I had them order the cheapest copy that they had available. So I should already have enough money to go ahead and pick it up on monday. I just hope that I can force myself to go ahead and wait until April before begining to read it! Ugh.
Erchin was home today, and will stay all of next week, for Spring Break. Ugh.
Well all that seems to keep happening, atleast dh is back to a full work schedule and even some overtime once in awhile. It’d be heck if all this were happening in the dead of a cold winter with a partial work schedule! Ugh.
