First of all, I want to thank Dr. John for listing my blog as one of the “art” blogs for yesturday’s blogging marathon. (I can hardly wait to tell Artboy, who’ll be graduating next year with a BFA degree, that his mom’s blog is an ART BLOG!) I was truely honored by this, and doubley honored once I saw the artwork shown on the other art blogs.
I also want to thank all of the marathoners for the visits and comments. One visiter even checked out my poetry blog, which has been greatly and sadly neglected and only had a single post, and left a short comment. That prompted me to make another post there, and commit to semi-regular poetry postings. (Click on my profile, then you can go to “Poetry of a Madwoman” and check it out.)
I finished all 12 catagories of Dr. John’s blogging marathon…woohoo! My dh started calling
me “lump who doesn’t move from the computer” in jest last evening because I sat at the computer for so long doing the blogging marathon! I have added so many new blogs to my blogs folder on my favorites, and have added a number of blogging friends to my blogging life. THANK YOU VERY MUCH DR. JOHN!!!
Here is sock number one of pair number one for my QuiltChat buddy Purplefeind. It’s from Nancy Bush’s book, “Knitting Vintage Socks”, and is the pattern “Child’s First Sock” found on pages 61-63 of the book. If you knit, knit socks. If you knit socks, please buy or check this book out of your local public library. Nancy converted vintage sock patterns so that we could make them using the needles and yarns available today. {I do not know Nancy Bush, have no stake in this book or the sale of this book. I am simply a sock knitter who was given a copy, and is now a lover of the book!}
I have got to finish the mate to this sock then quickly finish my stocking for the stocking swap and get into the mail to partner in Norway within the next week. Since the stocking is fairisle, I am likely to just do the top “cuff” portion of the stocking in the fairisle, and do the balance of the stocking just plain. Not because I don’t want to do the fairisle, but simpley in the interest of being able to finish and mail it in time!
Erchin is signing up to go to Vo-Tech next year. He is also going to be in the Vetran’s Day Parade tomorrow. (Parade is being held tomorrow so that the school can be in it.) He wants to take Computer Technology/Enginearing or Electrical Enginearing.
DH has an appointment with the nuroligist next monday. The doctor is atleast an hour and a half drive from here, so we are getting a ride. We will be gone a great part of the day next monday, so on monday don’t count on much of a post. Anyway, Erchin’s teacher has agreed to keep him at the school for an extra hour. My Aunt Charlotte has graciously agreed to pick Erchin up from school and keep him until we get home and call. Thank you Aunt Charlotte!
Yesturday, while doing the blogging marathon, I (being such a joiner these days) joined in on something called “WORDLESS WEDNESDAYS”. Okay, so I had already blabbed on a post and it was too late for me to be wordless, I still joined. So next wednesday I will post a picture for wordless wednesday and no words. I am torn as to what sort of picture I should try posting. I’ll keep my eyes out for various pictures, then whatever my mood is when I go to post on next Wednesday will determine just what sort of picture I post. If you’d like to suggest a picture, leave a comment to this post giving the addy of a picture.
Well I am going to go blogging now. Take care, and please if you’ve stopped by take the time to leave me a comment.
