We walked to post office, no check (bad words, bad words!). But we did tour some of the Huckleberry Festival booths.
At one booth I bought this huge hank of what feels like cotton. It is cut in long lengths for weaving, so it’s for my dil since she’s the weaver. But the lady at the booth was starting to spin using a small table top electric spinning machine. I mentioned that I’d like to learn to spin, and she said that she was looking for some local folks interested in spinning. It was her hope to employ them at spinning so that she might better be able to concentrate on weaving. She said that she would be willing to pay in fiber. I left her my name and information.
This is a little sample packet that the “Lama Mama” gave me. She has 25-30 lamas that she raises for the fiber. It is sooooo soft, I surely do hope that I can end up learning spinning from her, then get paid in lama fiber…hehehehe!
I also got the name of a youngman who has an organic garden. This year he hopes to begin selling his produce locally.
I also got a little bag of new potatoes, some green bell peppers, summer squash, zuccinni squash, and some cucumbers from the Farmer’s Market.
We then walked down to where some more boths were at the community center. I got two little soy tea lite candles and a little light house holder for them for dh. I also got dh a white Huckleberry Festival Car Show tee shirt. We got a bag of freebie stuff from the native american radio station folks.
We then went over to WalMart and I got just a few things that we needed from there.
Tonight Erchin and I will again walk down to the carnival. If the POP bracelettes (pay one price) are good tonight too, we’ll do some more rides! Right now, however, I am tired and need a nap!
