Pay It Forward

PIF I left a comment on Cathicraft’s blog ( http://cathicrafts.wordpress.com/ ) and have now joined in a round of Pay it Forward! Here are the rules:

It’s the Pay It Forward Exchange. It’s based of the concept of the movie “Pay it Forward” where acts or deeds of kindness are done without expecting something in return, just passing it on, with hope that the recipients of the acts of kindness are passed on. You all know I’m already a PIF type of person. So here’s how it works. I will make and send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment to this post on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I do not know what that gift will be yet, and it won’t be sent this month, probably not next month, but it will be sent (within 6 months) and that’s a promise! What YOU have to do in return, then, is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.

And yes I “barrored” the graphic and the rules from her blog. Hopefully she won’t mind, even if I don’t make it into her exchange I am still going to “Pay It Forward”.

Tittle says it all doesn’t it?

I sat my digital camera down over a week ago then couldn’t, for the life of me, find it! Well today I vacuumed and moved furniture when I did. When I moved the sofa I found the digital camera where it had slid down underneath, whew am I happy!

mom’s quilt topIn the move I found the quilt blocks, from a swap from 5 years ago, for mom’s quilt. I put them together and tried to figure out a way to make a personal quilt grow into a queen-sized quilt without looking funked. Longstory short, I couldn’t no matter how I tried mainly because I nolonger had the fabrics available and no way to get any more of the sashing fabrics. So I talked to mom and she agreed to my original idea; I will finish this as a personal quilt and then make a second quilt queen-sized to fit her bed. Pic is of the finished quilt top.

I’ll do my best to update again tomorrow, but no promises.

I Am Back, I Think…

We are about 90% moved. We have things to haul to the dump, junky furniture and trash etc, and a few more things to bring over to the new place. But we are nearly done.

SES’s QuiltThis is the quilt that I started for my grand daughter before she was born. I finished the quilt top just about 2.5 years ago. I started binding the quilt about 2.5 years ago, but the fabric I was using for the binding shredded so I ended up using the blanket binding that I had bought as “option B” instead. I finished the UFO, which I found while packing stuff to move, last week while relaxing one evening after a day of packing and moving!

I have gone back to working on my Scottish Kilt Hose, which were a KAL for September, but at least I am going to get them done for me before Christmas! My knitting stash has been moved to the new place already, yippie, so I can knit on gift socks soon.

Well I have got to get to laundry, something that I have alot of. I have now been a NON SMOKER for nearly 6 weeks! DH smokes outside at the new place, not because of any concern for me but because he didn’t like the nicotine that had collected on all of his things while at the old place! Whatever it takes I say.

I will do my best to be back within two to three days, but no promises.
