Happy Day!!!

Happy Belated Thanksgiving Day to the Americans! Happy Day to all!

"look, it's for me!"

I decided to make myself a pair of socks! I mean since I’ve been making socks for others I haven’t made myself a pair. It’s about time, IMHO, that I make myself a pair. The yarn is from the Design Line of Regia by Kaffe Fassett, #32633 (I am sorry offhand I don’t know the “name” of the color). It’s a self striping yarn and it’s prettier than this picture portrays it as.

I drew my brother’s name in the family Christmas Present Name Draw. I wanted to draw my brother’s namw. Now that I have, however, I haven’t got a clue as to what to get him! I am going with some friends to Joplin, MO a week from today, so hopefully I can find/figure something on that shopping trip. I hope I can get him something that will atleast be liked well enough that my brother won’t wish that someone else had gotten his name!

I hope to get my little 3ft table topper Christmas Tree up and decorated this weekend. I always leave the lights strung on the tree as that’s easiest. But I need to hang the little mini-ornaments and the few regular ornaments on the tree. I now have a proper little tree skirt and tree topper, the skirt was a gift and the topper I bought at WalMart.

I also want to get our stockings hung on the wall as well as the other Christmas decorations hung this weekend. I have the wall panel to hang outside, the wreath to hang inside, plaques to hang outside, and misc other items to place aroung the home. I have the tiny ceramic lighted tree to place, and other items I can’t quite recall at the moment.

Well I have first of month errands, extra errands, and doctor’s appoints to take care of on Monday. Grocery shopping and group therapy to do on Tuesday. I hope to update and bore y’all again sometime over the weekend, so be prepaired!

Duh, What Do I Say?

I haven’t got a clue what to write. I meen there’s lots going on, but I don’t know what to write and what to leave out. It’s my annual Duh.

My family, my immediate and local family members, are drawing names for gift giving this year. I never have the money to get for everyone. And this year with the economy and everything going on in out lives no one else can aford to get for everyone. So we decided to draw names and get only for the name we draw. Tomorrow my brother and I will draw and let everyone know who they are to get for. (Due to work schedules, we can not get together for Thanksgiving to draw then.)

I am knitting mittens for a gift for R. , who’s name I drew in my therapy group. Miss R. drew my name and she’s getting me two jewlry travel rolls. She let me pick what I wanted and I picked those as they are just right size for holding dbl pt knitting needles and stitch markers.

I have completed, and am about 1/3 way done with the second of a pair of eternal socks. Why do I call them eternal socks? Well they are either for my nephew or my oldest son, both of whom have size 11.5-12 feet! It takes so long to complete these socks I call them the eternal socks.

Well I hope not to be away so long. From my laptop and bedtop,

3 Weeks to Go!

With the election over with, it’s just at 3 weeks to go until Thanksgiving here in the USA. This year my family has decided that on turkey day we’ll draw names and only buy a gift for the named person we draw.  That’s not a thanksgiving gift, we’re talking Christmas Gift. Now I had hoped to draw my brother’s name, but oh no my mother has managed to muck that up! She bought a housewarming gift for my brother and his wife, and when she was confronted about yet againg spending too much, she called it a christmas gift so my brother wouldn’t fuss. She promised not get them anything else, so she’s decided that my brother and his wife aren’t to be drawn and she and dad don’t have to draw! I must talk to my brother about this!

3 Weeks to Go and mom, god love her, has already messed up Thanksgiving!
